3rd Annual Bunco Cash Raffle

Hello all!  And thank you for stopping by to read about our winners!

First a huge thank you to those of you who bought tickets, came and attended the raffle, as well as those of you who have been praying for our group.  I am absolutely amazed by the love and support from all of you.

We drew the grand prize winner first...and the winner of $500.00 cash for Christmas is:

**  CLEARSA WYNN  **

(Yay, for the first year ever, the grand prize winner was there in attendance!  Woo hoo!)

The runner up prizes went to:

$50.00 cash  -  Jean Spanko

$50.00 PFChangs Gift Card  -  Sean Wallace
$25.00 Cheesecake Factory Gift Card  -  Angela Conceao (sorry if I spelled that wrong!)
$25.00 Outback Steakhouse Gift Card -  Jean Spanko
4 Harkins movie passes and 2 popcorn vouchers  -  Autumn Davenport
Gold Canyon Candy Cane Candle - Dani Wiley
Gold Canyon Banana Nut Bread Candle - Tiffany Gass

Here is the bummer part:
If the following people had been there or had a representative there with their ticket...they would have won one of the above prizes....

**Shelly Sauer
**Kerry Lynne Myrick
**Jacque Alvarado
Thank you so much to those of you who donated gift cards and/or cash for our runner up prizes.

Once more, I did not sell the winning ticket.  Those of you who buy tickets would be wise to purchase them from someone else...like Nicole Hernandez...who sold the winning ticket this year!  LOL Thanks...and Congrats to Clearsa!

You may want to ask Jean Spanko to buy you a Powerball ticket, however, she only purchased two tickets and both of them were drawn for prizes!!

Also...huge thank you to Katie Phillips, Andrea Flint, Michelle Soto, Nicole Hernandez, and Autumn Davenport for your help in selling raffle tickets!  I am very blessed to be able to serve with all of you!

Lastly...I will have a final total of funds raised through candle sales in the next few days when all candles are finished being sold and delivered. :)

Many thanks...and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :)

Annual Cash Raffle in 2 days!

Another year has come and gone, like a whirlwind...and we are blessed to be in the position of helping another family this year.  Our bunco group is smaller, but the hearts of the ladies in it are just as big!

I am excited to announce that through email and facebook...all 100 of our raffle tickets are sold out!  We are anticipating a wonderful evening of dessert, coffee, and fellowship as we gather on Monday, December 3rd, 2012 to host the drawing for the $500.00 cash winner!

As in years past, we will hold the drawing at the Starbucks location off of 67th Avenue and just north of the loop 101.  We will meet just prior to 7pm and the raffle will be held promptly at 7:15.  (Just enough time to grab a coffee!)

Please do come if you can and bring your ticket stub.  You must be present with your stub to win the runner up prizes (you do NOT need to be present to win the $500).

This year, if you cannot make it, we are allowing a "proxy" to attend in your place and pick up any runner up prize you have won...as long as they are holding your ticket stub.

**I want to apologize...as I read through prior years...I realized that I had not ever posted photos as I promised.  Now that I have a smart phone, I promise to post photos of the drawing...and in just a few days, a bit of info about the family we have adopted.**

God Bless you all as we "Give Christmas Away" and multiply the joy of the Season!

Blessings,

Becky & the Bunco Babes

And the WINNER is....

Thank you to all of you who turned out to watch our winner be drawn for the 2011 raffle!  I am so appreciative of all of your support. ;)

A huge congratulations goes out to ROBIN DAVIS!  She is the grand prize winner!  Debi Ganem was given your 5 crisp $100.00 bills to deliver to you!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations also extended to our runner up prize winners:

$25.00 Cheesecake Factory gift card:  Kory Druecker
$20.00 Taco Bell gift card:  Shannon Painter
$15.00 Applebee's gift card:  Tonya Risser
$10.00 AMC gift card:  Monica Michels
Gold Canyon Christmas scented candle: Nathan Wickham
Deluxe bath spa set:  Jan Wiley

A few names that were drawn for runner up prizes that would have won, if they had been present are:

Autumn Davenport (twice!)
Jasmine Freeman
Jean Spanko
Jennifer Mundy
Lisa Simmons

I still assert that if any of you all have the opportunity, you should:

A)  Have Autumn Davenport buy your tickets for you (She and her daughters are some of the "luckiest" people I know!)
B)  Buy your tickets through someone other than ME!

My son pointed out that although I sold 85% of the raffle tickets, Debi Ganem sold the winning ticket!  He tells me that next year he is buying a ticket from anyone but me! ;)

Thanks to all of you who participated through buying tickets, who showed up for the raffle, and who have otherwise supported us as we adopt this family this year!

We have raised $1100.00 for the family with the raffle ticket sales, and our Gold Canyon Candle fundraiser!  I am so blessed to be a part of a community of givers!  God bless you all!

Sincerely,

Becky Spanko, Debi Ganem, and the whole bunco bunch!

Almost a sell out!!

Hi All!  Just an update that our raffle is in full swing.  Only one week until the drawing!

I have 13 tickets left for sale...there may be a few in addition to that from the other two gals who were selling thtem.  So we are CLOSE to being sold out!

As was the case last year, we will meet at Starbucks at 67th avenue and the Loop 101 to have the raffle pulled publicly.

Anyone who wishes to attend early to audit the ticket list and verify that their ticket made it in the box is welcome to do so.  We had two ladies come last year and double-verify that the list was correct and that all of the tickets were accounted for and actually IN the raffle.

I will arrive at approximately 7:30 and the raffle will be held at approximately 8pm. ;)

I will bring some fall goodies for you all to snack on while you grab a coffee and wait for the big announcement. ;)

Should you wish to order pies, pastries, or other baked goods for your Thanksgiving celebration, I will have a sign up sheet for that as well.

Thank you so much to those of you who have participated in any of the adopted family fundraisers...and thank you to all of the raffle ticket buyers!  We look forward to an exciting night of BIG blessings!

God Bless!
Becky & the Bunco team!

Successful Holiday!

Thank you everyone for your contributions to our adopted family.  We were so blessed to have been given so much support through all of the fabulous bunco babes.  I appreciate each and every one of you who donated items, gave financially, and who supported the efforts through fundraising. :)

The total amount raised from the raffle (440), pie sales (121), cookie dough sales (75), and candy bar sales (75)...gave us $711.00 to work with.  The Lord helped us to stretch that money by providing awesome sales and even coupons that helped! :)

The adopted family received almost everything on their wish list...and even some gift cards to help them keep celebrating together!

On Monday, December 20th...many of the bunco ladies gathered to wrap the gifts.  I was so amazed at how quickly they got through everything....I think I should have them over to wrap my family presents next year! LOL

Within a couple of hours, and after some taco soup and other munchies...we were finished...we propped the gifts up by the tree and next to the beautiful recliner that was donated for the family and took a couple of photos!  (The photos will be added later...when I have my tech-savvy teenager available to post them!)

The next day, on Tuesday, the 21st...four of us went to the complex to deliver the gifts.  I was a little nervous about drawing too much attention to the presents...but we were a sight to see unloading a completely full Suburban of wrapped gifts!

We brought the donated food items and gifts in to the apartment and forced the poor mom to not only open her "big" gift (so she could use it)...but then made her pose for a couple of photos...she had no warning and no make up on...but was a good sport! :)  The gift she opened while we were there was a DIGITAL camera...and she was thrilled!  She squealed and jumped up and down...and was so happy to have the ability to take photos of the kids and just do what normal moms do! Document your kids like crazy!

Obviously, I have been unable to post the gifts she was given so that it wouldn't be spoiled in case she knew about the blog...but now that the Holidays are over...I will post a list for you all after I upload photos this weekend! :)

Among the gift card goodies were a gas card, a gift card to Panda Express, Subway, Red Lobster & an American Express gift card for whatever she wanted to use it for! ;)

(They were so excited...in fact the mom said as we were bringing in the gifts..."I forgot that I get presents too.  It has been years since I have gotten a present.")

I can't wait to share more with you this weekend...with photos!  I promise.

Later in the day after dropping off the gifts, she called me and had this to say...her kids had both opened scooters, and another gift (they were going to open a couple each day...since the kids would be with their dad on Christmas eve and morning...)...and her son (11 years old)...said "Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord!"

And their daughter was equally as greatful...bragging on how God brought the best ladies to bless them!  (Confession:  Since Christmas, I have seen their daughter post photos of her wearing some of the items we got her for Christmas on facebook!  I think that is a success!)

Again...thank you ladies...dear friends...for your support.  What a blessing!

The people you blessed...in case you know them...were:

Carrie Switzer and her children Katie & Ian Menard. :)

God bless...I will post again soon!
