Successful Holiday!

Thank you everyone for your contributions to our adopted family.  We were so blessed to have been given so much support through all of the fabulous bunco babes.  I appreciate each and every one of you who donated items, gave financially, and who supported the efforts through fundraising. :)

The total amount raised from the raffle (440), pie sales (121), cookie dough sales (75), and candy bar sales (75)...gave us $711.00 to work with.  The Lord helped us to stretch that money by providing awesome sales and even coupons that helped! :)

The adopted family received almost everything on their wish list...and even some gift cards to help them keep celebrating together!

On Monday, December 20th...many of the bunco ladies gathered to wrap the gifts.  I was so amazed at how quickly they got through everything....I think I should have them over to wrap my family presents next year! LOL

Within a couple of hours, and after some taco soup and other munchies...we were finished...we propped the gifts up by the tree and next to the beautiful recliner that was donated for the family and took a couple of photos!  (The photos will be added later...when I have my tech-savvy teenager available to post them!)

The next day, on Tuesday, the 21st...four of us went to the complex to deliver the gifts.  I was a little nervous about drawing too much attention to the presents...but we were a sight to see unloading a completely full Suburban of wrapped gifts!

We brought the donated food items and gifts in to the apartment and forced the poor mom to not only open her "big" gift (so she could use it)...but then made her pose for a couple of photos...she had no warning and no make up on...but was a good sport! :)  The gift she opened while we were there was a DIGITAL camera...and she was thrilled!  She squealed and jumped up and down...and was so happy to have the ability to take photos of the kids and just do what normal moms do! Document your kids like crazy!

Obviously, I have been unable to post the gifts she was given so that it wouldn't be spoiled in case she knew about the blog...but now that the Holidays are over...I will post a list for you all after I upload photos this weekend! :)

Among the gift card goodies were a gas card, a gift card to Panda Express, Subway, Red Lobster & an American Express gift card for whatever she wanted to use it for! ;)

(They were so excited...in fact the mom said as we were bringing in the gifts..."I forgot that I get presents too.  It has been years since I have gotten a present.")

I can't wait to share more with you this weekend...with photos!  I promise.

Later in the day after dropping off the gifts, she called me and had this to say...her kids had both opened scooters, and another gift (they were going to open a couple each day...since the kids would be with their dad on Christmas eve and morning...)...and her son (11 years old)...said "Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord!"

And their daughter was equally as greatful...bragging on how God brought the best ladies to bless them!  (Confession:  Since Christmas, I have seen their daughter post photos of her wearing some of the items we got her for Christmas on facebook!  I think that is a success!)

Again...thank you ladies...dear friends...for your support.  What a blessing!

The people you blessed...in case you know them...were:

Carrie Switzer and her children Katie & Ian Menard. :)

God bless...I will post again soon!
